Conor McGregor’s Next Fight Rumored for July 2019 Against Donald Cerrone

Conor McGregor recently accepted the challenge of Donald Cerrone after Cerrone’s recent TKO win over Alex Hernandez. It looks like the fight has legs and has been confirmed by both sides and UFC President Dana White. McGregor was recently served with a suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and will be eligible to fight in April 2019. A Mcgregor return in July for International Fight Week in Las Vegas seems to be a logical timeline for a training camp.

Conor has stayed in the gym, training at SBG Naas and recently at American Top Team Atlanta. Coach John Kavanagh still has not been in contact with McGregor and is questionable to corner Mcgregor for his next fight. We could see a Conor return with a fresh camp and corner, only time will tell.

Following UFC 234 Mcgregor called out two more fighters, agreeing to fight Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz. I think with this recent activity on Social Media that Conor is anxious to get back in there and fight against anybody.

UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagamedov recently said he would be sitting out the nine month suspension unless his teammate were eligible to fight. This has opened up discussions for a possible interim title fight, making Cerrone vs Mcgregor a possible scenario.  Cerrone even suggested the idea on Instagram, nothing has been confirmed but if the UFC makes Cerrone and McGregor a title fight it could draw huge business.

Good News @thenotoriousmma looks like we get to fight for 155 Interim Title 🇺🇸vs🇮🇪 @properwhiskey vs @budweiser

Another possible scenario would be an interim title fight with top ranked fighters Tony Ferguson vs Dustin Poirier. Neither of these guys currently have an opponent and are well in range to receive a title shot in the stacked lightweight division.
